Eleanor

Eleanor

A Jar of milk-cow cream
for a violin dream
Look, Ma and Pa,
I snapped the peas

Dream
Of a violin

On our school bus
The little kids
Donnie, Buck, Emma and Newt
Sit on too-hot tube bench
This bench
on a tube
In the middle of the bus.

Pa's Stradivarius
It's 1832, too big. I can't play that!
Maybe Mrs. Shepherd has one for me
Sitting on the bench,
Emma's feet swing my old shoes.
Bucky burned himself last week
Only little kids sit on that thing.

This milk-cow cream
Will buy my violin dream.
